Sonny Richardson // Broker and Owner
Born in Mathews and raised at the end of a dock with a crab pot in one hand and a fishing rod in the other, Sonny has been selling the Middle Peninsula for close to 40 years. “I can’t imagine living anywhere else, really. Having the opportunity to watch the sun set over the Bay every day of my life is something that never gets old.” Sonny opened Bay Properties over 20 years ago and has never looked back. “Buying a home along water takes on another level of importance in people’s lives. For many it represents the fulfillment of a lifelong dream and being a part of that is why I come to work each and every day.”

Rosemary Griffith // Agent
After living in Richmond for over thirty years and renovating two houses, I’ve had the pleasure of calling the Chesapeake Bay area home since 2009. We bought our Mathews property in the mid-90’s, and while experiencing waterfront building first hand, I quickly understood that building along the water is different. Design and construction, as well as matters relating to rip rap, pier building, septic and wells are all part of the unique challenges that I enjoy helping people navigate.
Transitioning to country living in a small waterfront community is buying a lifestyle, one that for me now includes watching the tides, crabbing, and raising oysters. Whether it’s kayaking in the quiet creeks or exploring the different personalities of the small towns, it’s part of the pace that I’ve grown into and appreciate. My experience as a former small business owner in the area selling locally sourced foods has given me a unique insight into the community and the abundance it has to offer. I look forward to sharing that and helping you find your perfect setting.
Daria Linsinbigler // Agent
Originally from the Philadelphia area, Daria has traveled throughout the country with her military family eventually setting down roots in Mathews, Virginia. Attracted by its quaint historic locale along the Chesapeake Bay, she found this region to be the ideal location for a wonderful quality of life. “Here you have the best of both worlds…a country setting along the beautiful bay yet just a short drive to the Historic Triangle of Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown”.
Daria’s focus area covers a wide range of properties located within the Chesapeake Bay Watershed-from Gloucester Point to the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula. She has a unique understanding of local issues concerning the Bay and strives to make your property buying or selling experience as easy and stress free as possible. Since becoming a sales award winner in 2006 and continuously ranking among top producers she has been involved with many types of sales. In 2011, Daria was the selling agent of a historic home in Mathews County for the DIY Network’s Blog Cabin. During the restoration of the home, she worked closely with the television crew and producers to turn a dilapidated farmhouse into a show case home for a lucky winner. As a result, Mathews became nationally recognized as an ideal place to live. If you’re considering a move to the Middle Peninsula or Northern Neck Region of Virginia or a local resident looking to sell, please put Daria’s years of experience to work for you!

I began my real estate career as an appraiser in 1970 and became a licensed sales person in 1974. Over the years I have worked as a mortgage loan originator, home builder, commercial property portfolio manager and land developer. Being involved in so many aspects of the real estate process has helped me develop an understanding of how all of the pieces of the puzzle fit together. Because of my varied background I am uniquely qualified to represent either buyers or sellers to ensure that every transaction goes quickly and smoothly.
I am partial to Mathews County, as it is where I spend most of my time, but all of the counties along the Bay are truly wonderful places to live, work and play. Mathews has more miles of shoreline than any other county in Virginia which means that opportunities for fishing, boating, kayaking and canoeing are almost unlimited. I am an avid boater and fisherman and can use my knowledge of the area’s waterways to help you find that perfect weekend getaway or permanent place to call home.
Davie S. Cottrell // Agent
I started my real estate career in 1992, following my retirement from the U.S. Navy, in Fredericksburg, Virginia. I grew up in the Middle Peninsula, and have enjoyed the Chesapeake Bay and Piankatank River all of my life. I moved to my home in Sail Cove, in Hallieford, Virginia, on Queen’s Creek, which affords easy access to the river and bay for fishing or sailing. I enjoy sitting on my dock, fishing and crabbing, watching the sunset in the late afternoon. I have a Tartan 37 sailboat and enjoy exploring the Chesapeake Bay and its tributaries. Maybe next year, it’ll be the Caribbean.
